New Light India

Beginning in the neighborhood of Kalighat in South Kolkata, India, New Light is an organization founded by Urmi Basu in 2000. Housing only nine children at the start, New Light is now housing and educating over 250 Children of Sex workers within the cities of India.
 

New Light has multiple facilities that serve as a safe Haven for the children of sex workers and other shamed professions within India. They offer many services to serve these families when the community won’t serve them.
